more bloggy

If there's one thing more cutting-edge than starting a blog in 2009, it's starting a food blog. Helen and I have begun our first joint internet venture: blogging about the food we make for dinner. It's fascinating! You can read it here:

This is Helen's first blogging experience. Predictably, she's swung over from skepticism to wild enthusiasm, and will probably be the main contributor.

We decided to start this because we signed up for one of those local, organic food delivery services. It's pretty great; as you can imagine, there is a ton of great food grown locally here in the midwest. The meat is humanely raised and hormone/antibiotic free, so they say. Everything is really fresh and good, and also the sizes are huge, which is fun. And it helps out local farmers, which is nice.

In addition to making us feel smug about our responsible shopping habits, it's also gotten us out of our cooking rut, since every week we have to figure out how to cook some new thing we've never heard of before. Luckily, these days you can just search the web and discover how to cook anything.
